The Hoyt Park Overlook

The Hoyt Park Overlook

The Hoyt Park overlook, an iconic location even prior to development in the 19th century. The engraving memorializes Edward Owens’ daughters Ethel and Cornelia who died in a diptheria epidemic. Owens donated the land for Owen Parkway to the Madison Park and Pleasure Drive Association to establish a pleasure drive to the overlook, one of the first in Madison.
