The City of Madison is presently preparing a neighborhood plan for the Hoyt Park Area.  This area includes the areas covered by the VanChaMasShe Neighborhood Association (VNA) and two other neighborhood associations.  The city's main webpage on this planning process is at http://www.cityofmadison.com/p…..tParkPlan/.  The “Stay Informed” link at this page connects you to the “My Madison” site where you can sign up to receive email updates and materials on this planning process.  An overview of the planning process is provided at http://www.cityofmadison.com/p….._06_11.pdf

The planning process is guided by a citizen group called the Hoyt Part Area Joint Steering Committee.    At its December meeting, the Joint Steering Committee created a subcommittee, the Sustainability Workgroup, which is addressing the sustainability aspects of the plan.  I am helping to coordinate this workgroup.  Please contact me to get on the email list for this workgroup.

Meetings of this committee and of the Sustainabilty Workgroup are open to the public, and all residents in the area are welcome to participate.

The current schedule calls for the affected neighborhood associations to review and approve the plan this summer and for the City Council to then act on it.  The detailed schedule is posted at http://www.cityofmadison.com/p…..Glance.pdf

The current meeting schedule for the remainder of the process is provided below.  The Joint Steering Committee meets from 6:45 to 8:45 PM at Sequoya Library.  The Sustainability Workgroup meets from 4 to 6 PM at the library at First Baptist Church, 518 N. Franklin Ave.
