Wisconsin Solar Tour this Saturday

Solar homes and businesses, including a number in Madison, are opening their doors for you to see their renewable energy and other green technologies in action. Tour sites are owned, lived in, and worked in by ordinary people. The free event, organized by the Midwest Renewable Energy Association runs from 10 AM to 4 PM this Saturday, October 5, 2013.

Here is a preview of just one of the many sites you can see:

Dan Rodman/Katie Ravich Residence
1218 Fish Hatchery Road
Madison, WI 53715

Dan and Katie’s 2.9 kW PV (photovoltaic or solar-electric) system and 75 square foot solar water heater are mounted atop a detached garage. Their PV system produces about 75% of their yearly electric use and the solar water heater covers about 75% of their hot water use.
