Golf, Bowls, Stars, Out & About, and More

GOLF COURSES OPEN FRIDAY
Good news golfers! Odana, Glenway and Monona golf courses will be open Friday for walk & play. Odana will possibly be ready for carts. Please contact Odana Thursday evening or Friday to check the cart status: (608) 266-4724. Currently Yahara will not be open; however this status may change by Friday.

WARNER FAMILY FUN NIGHT
Join Madison Parks and the WPCRC for our March Warner Family Fun Night as we gear up for spring on Friday, March 11!

FEEDING THE ARTS: AN EMPTY BOWL EVENT
Empty Bowl is an international grassroots effort to fight hunger. Guests are invited to a simple meal of soup and bread in their choice of over 400 ceramic take-home bowls in exchange for a cash/check donation. Join us at WPCRC on Saturday, March 12.

BIRD & NATURE WALK
See you Sunday, March 13 at Turville Point Conservation Park for this free, guided nature walk!

STARGAZING
Learn about the night sky from our friends at UW Space Place on Monday, March 14. Free to attend, please RSVP by calling (608)266-4711 or emailing.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES GALORE!
Madison Parks, along with volunteer organizations offers numerous ways to help make our parks more beautiful. Spring is the ideal time to get the parks in shape for summer play. A list of upcoming projects hosted by volunteer groups is listed on our website. Additionally, we are seeking volunteers for the following:

  • Dog Park Cleanup Day – Saturday, April 2 (new date)
  • Earth Day Challenge – Saturday, April 23
  • Disc Golf Course Volunteer Days – Various Saturdays April/May

ADOPT-A-PARK TREE PROGRAM
You may be noticing orange dots on ash trees in parks. These are scheduled to be removed within the next year or so. Perhaps not widely known, the Adopt-A-Park Tree program offers residents a way to help protect eligible ash trees within the Madison parks system.
